Digitization & Co. - that's how the LOGSOL year 2017 was
Whether it be in politics, business, or the private sphere: 2017 was influenced by digitalisation more than ever, and Germany seems to have finally awoken from its “digital hibernation”. In the course of this, we encounter new possibilities and technological innovations almost daily. Many of these have long since become things that we take for granted, having crept almost unnoticed into our everyday lives. This is making our lives increasingly flexible. Information, news and media can be accessed at any time, and can be shared and compared via different channels. Another gain is the possibility of uncomplicated, cross-departmental cooperation, thanks to cloud computing and the like.
But, as is well known, revolutionary changes also give rise to unforeseen challenges. The problems of our age often concern data security, network connection, new working environments, constant availability and changed mobility concepts – the extreme fast pace sometimes becomes a burden. There is no doubt, however, that digitalisation can no longer be stopped. Even if it could, would we want that? Are not smartphones, map services, streaming applications, cloud solutions, etc. much more useful than limiting?
If, against this background, we take a look back on our LOGSOL development, we continue to stand by the quote from Franz Kafka that already convinced us when we were first starting out:
“PATHS ARE MADE BY WALKING.”
We will also be walking these paths in 2018 in the world of logistics, and continuing to contribute all of our enthusiasm and expertise. In line with this, the new LOGSOL Christmas magazine includes, among other things, our “digital review of the year” and themes such as Industry 4.0, digitalisation in logistics and innovation management, and there will of course also be exclusive looks into LOGSOL Insights.
