In recent years, the logistics industry gained massively in importance and is serving as an essential interface function. Nevertheless, the logistics industry has an image as being old-fashioned. Wrongly, because modern logistics today offers a wide range of future-proof career opportunities to young people. But why are high school graduates, students, and job seekers not fully aware of these findings? The BVL, the German association for Logistics, pondered this question and knows that there is not only a lack of education but, most important, a lack of professional work on the sector’s image.
To solve this problem, the BVL workgroup “Image of Logistics” has launched the campaign “Logistics Heroes”, which is starting nationwide in mid-2019. By this, young professionals and job seekers are to be addressed and informed directly, and the reputation of the third largest industry sector will experience an enhancement. The basis for this: To bundle as many associations, interest groups, organizations, media, and logistics companies as possible to create a platform and achieve maximum visibility together. The Logistics Heroes themselves are authentic ambassadors of the industry. They tell their various stories about their everyday work on the internet – especially on the relevant social media and video channels – and on eye-catching posters, in advertisements, etc.
Frauke Heistermann, the spokeswoman of the workgroup and member of the BVL-board, is optimistic that enough funds from supporters will be collected to make the campaign a success. “Our goal is to raise a seven-figure sum that makes it possible to launch the necessary advertisement. We are on the right track. Around 50 companies, institutions, associations, and media partners are already among the supporters. We are glad about any additional `business maker’.”
LOGSOL is not only one of the supporters of the campaign, but will also appear year-round with its own Logistics Heroes.
