LOGSOLbewegt - #Activeforcharity

The year 2020/21 was all about sports at LOGSOL: In September 2020, we launched our heartfelt project "LOGSOL Runs" for the first time. In 12 months, our colleagues collected active hours, which we converted into a donation amount. With the proceeds we took over the birthday sponsorships of all children for a children's home (Haus der Kinder) in Pirna in 2021.

Never change a running system

The participation in our common heart project was terrific and so we decided to continue the project in 2022 - only with a new name and new donation partners!

The principle is the same again this year: by means of various sports, our LOGSOLers collect active hours, which are then converted into a monetary amount. What counts is: Every sport is counted! Joint sporting events will not be neglected either. Only on 27.02.2022 we undertook a hike together in the Bohemian Switzerland.

Our donation partners

We would like to support several organizations/associations with the proceeds this year. Already we could win two donation partners for us: BUND Dresden and FIRST® LEGO® League.

BUND Dresden: The organization is committed - for example - to organic farming and healthy food, to climate protection and the expansion of renewable energies, and to the protection of endangered species of forest and water. We are currently supporting two projects:

1. Children's group "Prießnitzpiraten"

In two-week intervals, children from the age of 6 who are interested in nature conservation meet to explore the environment together. Central questions are to be answered, such as who lives in the earth, in the water and in the air - what are microorganisms good for, for example. Most often, the Prießnitzgrund and the Alaunpark are on the agenda - in bad weather, the program continues indoors. The goal is to introduce children to environmental protection and nature conservation at an early age and to find ways to achieve great things even with small actions.

2. German-Czech youth exchange with mountain meadow care in the Ore Mountains

In the summer of 2022, the German and Czech young people will work together in a seven-day camp to maintain valuable biotopes in the border region between Germany and the Czech Republic. During the camp, all the areas to be maintained will be worked on, friendships will develop between the participants from both countries, and a great deal of knowledge about nature conservation work will be imparted on excursions and in discussion groups.

FIRST® LEGO® League: The FIRST® LEGO® League is a worldwide competition in which children and young people between the ages of 6 and 16 work creatively on tasks with annually changing themes. In addition to teamwork and research presentations, the competition also involves the construction and programming of a robot. In the current season, the theme is "Cargo Connect". Here, the teams are challenged in the research category to find the most sustainable, safe or innovative ways to transport goods. To do so, they must prepare a research presentation and build a prototype.

For the competition on March 26, 2022, the organizers have been looking for jury members - apart from LOGSOL, a total of five experts will participate as jurors: our CEO Uwe Wenzel as well as 4 other colleagues. We are already looking forward to the challenge in the TU Dresden auditorium center and thank our colleagues for their commitment.
