In March 2016, Pietsch Haustechnik GmbH celebrated the topping-out ceremony of the new warehouse in the industrial park Ostrau. Only one year later, the entire logistics center was inaugurated by company owner Dr. Michael Pietsch. Since its opening in 1993, the second construction phase at this site has come to an end. On a total of 20,000 m², the 5,300 m² warehouse including an office complex, one 1,800 m² cold hall, extensive parking spaces, and an outdoor storage area were built. In the next step, the existing building will be renovated. Pietsch has seen a strong business growth in recent years. With the structural expansion, the wholesaler for plumbing, heating and air condition technology can now react even faster to customer requests, offer best quality of service, and ensure optimal warehouse logistics for the increased product range.

Dr. Michael Pietsch knows: “Only with efficient logistics, the company can stay competitive.” Currently, 13,000 articles worth 8.5 million Euro are permanently available at the Ostrau central warehouse. In the final expansion stage, this number will rise to 20,000 items. LOGSOL supported Pietsch in implementing modern warehouse technology and accompanied the implementation of the new logistics processes. Michael Borowski, LOGSOL Head of Logistics Planning, who accompanied the project from the first planning idea to the inauguration, knows the advantages of the new logistics center:

„Efficient logistics nowadays does not only mean having sufficient articles and trucks available for the delivery. It is just as important to align the processes with the increasing demands. Therefore, new IT-based logistics processes were implemented at the Pietsch site in addition to the new warehouse, the warehouse technology, and the workstation design. Because only when building, logistics equipment, and process planning are aligned, our customers can benefit from efficient and cost-effective logistics processes. We are pleased that we were able to contribute to this.”
