The customer

Ehrlich Logistics GmbH & LOG ONE GmbH are full service providers in the fields of forwarding and warehouse logistics based in Wittenberg. Their services include the transportation of refrigerated and dry goods in freight, part-load and mixed goods transport. Using BinMan, all customer accounts as well as the vehicle and driver balances are presented on the basis of the activated loading equipment movements. To this end, the standard BinMan solution was tailored specifically to the customers’ requirements profile.

 

Specification and structuring phase

Based on a specifications workshop and the communicated requirements of Ehrlich Logistics GmbH and of LOG ONE GmbH, LOGSOL created a solution proposal for mapping all the requirements in BinMan. The customers were particularly focused on practice-orientated implementation of the adjustments.

 

Implementation phase

The BinMan entry screens were tailored to the operational processes of Ehrlich Logistics GmbH and LOG ONE GmbH and expanded with numerous new functions. This also included the revision of the master data module, with which the loading equipment balances can now be presented and analysed, with the exception of individual vehicles and drivers.

 

Further focuses in the software development:

 

  • Supra/sub-account structure of companies including levels (location, vehicle, driver)
  • Module for lorry allocation (definition of driver-vehicle relationships, vehicle takeover and handover)
  • Function for loading equipment voucher management
  • Individual entry screen with customer-specific filter options
  • Evaluation module for portfolio analysis of the fleet and the drivers

 

Test phase

  • Provision of a QA test system
  • Automated, browser-based test runs
  • Model-driven software development


All software developments were tested extensively for full functionality/usability by the persons responsible for the project at the customers and at LOGSOL in the QA system provided and approved by the client. Moreover, additional solution approaches emerged, which were specified later on in the course of the project and were implemented in full for the clients.

 

Introduction phase and go-live

In the course of the introductory phase, the key users of Ehrlich Logistics GmbH and LOG ONE GmbH received personal on-site training in Wittenberg. Additionally, LOGSOL supplied the individual databases and the separate domains for the clients. LOGSOL also assumed the initial data migration of the master data using CSV imports and manual inputs. Since the successful go-live, a free help-desk system and a support hotline have been available to Ehrlich Logistics GmbH and LOG ONE GmbH.
