Schenker AG is a large, international logistics service provider for goods traffic (by land, air and sea) and associated logistical tasks.

The project

LOGSOL supported DB Schenker in the task of removing the old automotive OEM system of an automotive OEM and connecting the new SAP system to the DB Schenker SAP system. The cooperation with the DB Schenker team in Leipzig was based on open, closely connected communication. All the technical concepts and general approaches were coordinated right on site and progress as well outstanding points of all the project work packages were discussed in weekly regular meetings. This enabled a transparent overall workflow connected across all areas that was supported by comprehensive project management. The particular challenge in the project was the high coordination effort of all the project participants within a complex team structure, which was divided into process and IT teams for each work package, taking into account the requirements of the automotive OEM as the project initiator and the implementation options in logistics operations. Moreover, it was necessary to implement new functions in an existing productive system, without endangering the supply of the OEM’s foreign plants.
