Schenker Deutschland AG

Schenker Deutschland AG

Der Kunde

Schenker AG is a large, international logistics service provider for goods traffic (by land, air and sea) and associated logistical tasks.

The project

LOGSOL supported DB Schenker in the task of removing the old automotive OEM system of an automotive OEM and connecting the new SAP system to the DB Schenker SAP system. The cooperation with the DB Schenker team in Leipzig was based on open, closely connected communication. All the technical concepts and general approaches were coordinated right on site and progress as well outstanding points of all the project work packages were discussed in weekly regular meetings. This enabled a transparent overall workflow connected across all areas that was supported by comprehensive project management. The particular challenge in the project was the high coordination effort of all the project participants within a complex team structure, which was divided into process and IT teams for each work package, taking into account the requirements of the automotive OEM as the project initiator and the implementation options in logistics operations. Moreover, it was necessary to implement new functions in an existing productive system, without endangering the supply of the OEM’s foreign plants.

The results

Successful implementation of all process and system adjustments in the logistics operations / DB Schenker SAP system
Successful replacement of the old automotive OEM system and securing of the parts supply of the foreign production locations by connecting the new OEM SAP system
High satisfaction of all project partners thanks to a smooth system conversion
High acceptance of the process and system changes in the logistics operations

What the customer says

“IN INTERNATIONAL PROJECTS OF THIS SCALE, EFFICIENT COMMUNICATION BETWEEN ALL INVOLVED IS ALWAYS THE BIGGEST CHALLENGE. HERE, IN THIS SPECIFIC CASE, THE FOLLOWING AREAS IN PARTICULAR WERE INTEGRATED FOR THE SUB-PROJECT AFFECTING DB SCHENKER: THE DEPARTMENT OF THE OEM RESPONSIBLE FOR FOREIGN SUPPLY, THE FOREIGN PRODUCTION LOCATIONS AND THE DB SCHENKER LOGISTICS CENTRE. DUE TO THE CLOSE CONNECTION TO THE OEM FOREIGN PLANTS, PARTICULAR IMPORTANCE WAS ASSIGNED TO THE 'CUSTOMER ORDER AND GOODS ISSUE' WORK PACKAGES. HERE, THE LOGSOL EMPLOYEES PHILIPP WILKE AND DANIEL MESEBERG PROVIDED US WITH CRUCIAL SUPPORT WITH THEIR HIGH LEVEL OF EXPERTISE AND THEIR DEDICATION AS WELL AS CLEAR COMMUNICATION IN THE DESIGN AND IMPLEMENTATION OF THE PROCESS IN THE NEW SAP SYSTEMS TO BE DESIGNED OF THE AUTOMOTIVE OEM AND DB SCHENKER. LOGSOL SHOWED ITSELF TO BE A RELIABLE PARTNER ACROSS THE LONG DURATION OF THE PROJECT, EVEN THOUGH INDIVIDUAL TOPICS WERE TO BE DEALT WITH BY NEW EMPLOYEES. LOGSOL ALWAYS ORGANISED AND ARRANGED THESE CHANGES WITHOUT LOSSES OF PRODUCTIVITY FOR THE PROJECT.”
