RampMan^® time slot management in use at Best Secret Logistik GmbH in Poing near Munich

High quality designer fashion at great prices – this is what customers can find at the prestigious fashion company Best Secret. Founded in Munich in 1924, the family business is now an international fashion group. Customers from all over the world can have their favorite items delivered straight to their homes, with over five million products from more than 3,000 international designer brands to choose from.

The range of products requires a large storage capacity, and straight order processing must be guaranteed. The new Best Secret Logistik GmbH distribution center in Poing near Munich provides the space required. “Our goal in future is to [load and unload] up to 200 trucks a day,” says Bernd Talmon, senior director of commercial management.

Coordination at the ramp – the RampMan^® time slot management software makes it possible

To be able to coordinate the large number of trucks without any problems, Best Secret Logistik GmbH decided to use our time slot management software RampMan^®. The international fashion group has been using the cloud software at its logistics warehouse in Poing for over two years.

They started with the RampMan^® standard version, which was expanded with customer-specific adaptations over the course of the project. At the end of 2020, RampMan^® received further updates at Best Secret and, among other things, it was integrated into the IT infrastructure of Best Secret Logistik GmbH with a unidirectional interface from the ERP to RampMan^®. The interface ensures that time slot bookings by forwarding agents are only possible on the basis of transmitted order data and with a valid delivery number.

Further adaptations to time slot booking are also scheduled for this year: For the automatic transfer of the ACTUAL times to the ERP (truck arrival, dispatch processing time, truck departure), RampMan^® will receive an interface for the bidirectional exchange between the ERP and the software. When expanding RampMan^® functions, it was especially important for Best Secret that the stated delivery date for the time slot booking is also transmitted from RampMan^®, thus guaranteeing increased oversight of deliveries for the purchasing department.
