Swiss Post is one of Switzerland’s largest logistics, transportation, and service companies. With thousands of access points, branches, and logistics centers, it ensures the smooth flow of goods and information both domestically and internationally every day and continuously invests in the digitalization of its logistics processes.

Objective

  • Implementation of a digital container management system for 4,800 access points and over 800 branches
  • Optimized inventory management and timely delivery of containers to reduce transportation costs and empty runs
  • Centralized digital control for greater transparency, efficiency, and scalability across the entire postal network

Implementation

  • Project launch in 2022 with the selection and implementation of BinMan® as the new system platform
  • Integration into the existing IT landscape, including backend connections, a web frontend for orders, and user-friendly scheduling and picking functions
  • Agile development using Scrum to enable flexible customization
  • Phased rollout: most functions implemented by May 2024; nationwide rollout in April 2025
